I am being flakey.

Today I had to open at the SBUX and woke up at 2.45am. Yes, that’s right: 2.45am. I felt a little out of whack, as I am out of practice for the lovely working schedule – I was off for a full two weeks! But, it was good to be back at work. A few people noticed I was gone – always nice to be welcomed back!!
I followed that up with de-stinkifying my laundry at my friend Becci’s house, in combination with watching the most recent two episodes of LOST. I am so very mucho addicted to that show. When something happened on the show that scared me, I screamed. No one was home, no one around – just me being so into the show. Man, it’s only TV… whatever.
So, the thought for today is: is nursing and seminary too much for one time? I don’t think that I’d ever really want to do serious pastoring, like in a church, but in a mission capacity, or pastoral care capacity, or something along those lines, it could work. Like in a clinic or setting in Nicaragua, or in Burma, where my mom is (if you want more info on that, let me know – she’s in Shan State in the mountains being a nurse), etc.
In terms of the church things, I’ve been asked to be a co-leader for a PC(USA) Young Adult Travel Study Seminar to Russia in August. The subject is Terrorism in Our Times: The Response of Church and State. It will deal with the PC(USA) and the Russian Orthodox Church’s and our respective government’s responses to terrorism today. I am very excited about it, and am very honored to be asked to be a co-leader. I am going as a delegate to Alabama for the PC(USA)’s 217’s General Assembly.
But, back to the title of this post: I’m being a flake. I was supposed to go to a party, but I’m at home, in my sweats and the streets are wet. People in LA cannot drive in the rain or on wet streets, and I just want to sit at home and read and watch figure skating. Is that so bad??
So, g’night moon (that is invisible) and goodnight all.
