So, as I alluded to before, I’m contemplating a complete career change from the area I’ve been in for the past almost six years. Continue reading

music musings
I’ve lately come to the realization that I’m “on the cutting edge” of music. Sbux has some random music on during the day, random singers, I should say, since most of the stuff is “satellite radio mixes” (it’s not really satellite, but a CD that lies). And, I know of most of the singers, and then I fell in love with three new bands: Goldfrapp, She Wants Revenge and Ladytron - oh and Howling Bells. So that’s 4. Most people don’t know of them, and they may be “avant garde.” But, whatever, I like them… this is what I’ve been listening to lately. I long to be out of debt, so I can go see shows when I want to see them. The Sounds have a new album out in less than a month – I am so excited!! Apparently they’re “new” on Indie 103.1 – NOT! I’ve been listening to them for two+ years.
Anyone out there who’s reading this have fun new bands I should listen to?
apartments and flights – oh my
I went to look at apartments in the Echo Park neighborhood with Kuan today. We found some places on Craig’s List, and wanted to check out the quality of the neighborhood. We found some gems… One of which we’ve emailed about, the others of which we either disregarded or else will be calling about. They’re all duplexes and are just faboo! I’m stoked. We can almost walk to Dodger Stadium, but not sure about the walk home… at night. In the dark. Regardless, there are great stores nearby and freeway access is good (yes, that’s what I look for in places now…). It’s not too far from a fair amount of friends too! Bonus! And man, Echo Park is great. One of the duplexes we’re interested in is only $1580 for a two bedroom with w/d hookups! WOO!
I still haven’t thought more about seminary or not, or the like, but I’m thinking… I did just book all my travel info for General Assembly in June, but yeah… that’s about all. After my workout, I’m sleepy.
Must go to sleep now, as I have to work at 5.15am. Aren’t you jealous?
I am being flakey.
Today I had to open at the SBUX and woke up at 2.45am. Yes, that’s right: 2.45am. I felt a little out of whack, as I am out of practice for the lovely working schedule – I was off for a full two weeks! But, it was good to be back at work. A few people noticed I was gone – always nice to be welcomed back!! Continue reading
